The Catoosa County Utility District is under investigation by The Georgia First Amendment Foundation based on alleged violations of Georgia's Open Meetings Act.
The foundation's executive director, Hollie Manheimer, said that her group had received complaints about the way the board conducts its meetings.

Representatives from Costco told the media that Chattanooga demographics attracted their attention years ago. Until about a year ago, Costco was considering three locations in the area, two of which were in Hamilton County.
Roger Campbell, Costco's senior vice president to the southeast, said that the store will not only be able to serve the entire Chattanooga area but also tap into the Dalton, GA area.
